For new clients your first colonic is £80, your appointment lasts for an hour and a half. It includes a full consultation as well as the colonic. This is essential to help you prevent the same issues re-occurring.

If you are a Doctor looking to refer your patients
We often see new clients who have been referred by their GP or specialist. If you are considering referring patients to us we hope the following will be helpful:

What type of patient will benefit from referral to you?

Most clients are referred to us if they are suffering with IBS symptoms, impaction, trapped gas and/or food   intolerance or food allergy. Normally after one session we would expect a large part of their symptoms to have reduced significantly or disappeared but some patients may need a course of treatments depending on how long their symptoms have been present and the severity of their situation.

We do not offer treatments to your patients who are pregnant, have colitis, anal tears, diverticulitis or uncontrolled blood pressure. A more comprehensive list of contra-indications is here

Why refer to us?
Our consultation procedure includes education to explain to your patient the reason why some problems may have occurred, this helps them to maintain a better digestive system at home and reduce the likelihood of symptoms re-occuring or causing them to revisit you for an appointment. This is often helped by regular visits to see us and often reduces their reliance on medication.

We will NEVER recommend that your patient comes off any medication prescribed by you and we will always refer them back to you should a reduction in prescription drugs seem appropriate. At no point will we try and take the place of a medical expert but we will provide information and knowledge gained through many years of specialising in the intestinal area.
We will always encourage your patient to help themselves, in our experience this, in conjunction with the consultation we provide, often leads to a cessation of appointments with yourselves as they re-educate themselves and take responsibility for their own health.

All our equipment is disposable.
All feed back we have received from medical professionals has been very positive in this respect.


Who pays?

Currently Colonic Irrigation is not available on the NHS and we will charge the client direct as appropriate. If your patient has private medical insurance with Healthshield they may be able to claim, but they would pay us first and claim direct from the insurer. Healthshield does not require referral from a Doctor for a valid claim for colonic irrigation or allergy testing.

What happens after the colonic? Referrals from doctors for colonic irrigation in Northampton

We will provide recommendations to your patient as to when they need to return and anything they need to do in between appointments. If they have been sent by you with a referral letter we will write to you advising you of the results/success of the session and anything we have discussed with your patient you may need to know.

If they have not been officially referred by you but you have recommended the procedure we will ask the patients permission to write to you.
